Quality and Choice in Education Ivana judging the DUWGA schools public speaking competition, Feb 07

I have campaigned within IFUT (the Irish Federation of University Teachers) for improved quality in education, by opposing the increasing use by many colleges and schools of temporary and short-term contracts for teaching staff.

I will also continue to argue for better resourcing of the primary sector in particular, and for the provision of greater choice in education, through an educational system which caters for those of all religions and of none. Within Trinity, as a College Tutor, I believe in the need for strong support for the College Tutor system, and in the need to further diversity among the student body through the development and strengthening of affirmative action programmes.
