IVANA’S RECENT SPEAKING EVENTS
Week beginning Monday 7th March 2011:
This week I spoke about the lives of pioneering Irish feminists like Alice Milligan, Averill Deverell and Georgina Frost at the National Women’s Council celebration of International Women’s Day in the National Library (12-2pm, Tue 8th March 2011) See http://www.nwci.ie/download/pdf/20110225150231.pdf
On the same day I debated the relevance of feminism in Ireland today with Camille Loftus on George Hook’s show on Newstalk - and attended the launch of the latest volume of the Trinity College Law Review, Ireland’s leading undergraduate law publication (http://www.trinitycollegelawreview.org/).
On Wed 9th March I spoke at the Irish Architecture Foundation ‘Urban Party’ event in Smithfield on ‘A Vision for Dublin’ - see http://www.architecturefoundation.ie/2011/02/22/urban-party-at-the-complex-on-wednesday-9-march/
Next Monday 14th March I will be participating in a new civic initiative being organised by Trevor White (formerly of The Dubliner magazine) called ‘City of a Thousand Welcomes’ where visitors to Dublin are introduced to hospitable locals whom they meet for a complimentary cup of tea or a drink - the Dubliner welcomes the tourist
